Happy Halloween!

For Halloween I dressed up as "The Paperbag Princess" from my favourite children's book!

I met up with Reese and we took this picture on the front porch before we headed out. Sorry it's so dark!

I got a lot of goodies from around the neighbourhood! When I got home I investigated my loot. Toys, candy, cookies, cakes and even an caramel apple!

Happy Halloween!

Time to Carve

This afternoon we made pumpkin spice milkshakes with whipped cream and sprinkles, then got to work on carving the pumpkin!

Mom cut it open but it was my job to clean out the insides. Look at all that pulp!

I set aside the seeds so we could bake them. With a dash of salt they are delicious!

Of course I wanted my pumpkin to feature a fish.

Tada! My spooky pumpkin inspired by the sea!

Pumpkin picking!

I haven't written in a while, school has been keeping me plenty busy!

This week my mom and I went out and picked the perfect pumpkin for Halloween! Mom also took the opportunity to take lots of photos of me in the pretty, colourful leaves!

My pumpkin is bigger than my head!! It will be loads of fun to carve.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween weekend. Can't wait to reveal my Halloween costume, stay tuned!

Sleepover

This weekend I invited Reese over for our first sleepover. I love sleepovers!

Mom pulled out the futon and we watched Frozen. It's one of my favorite movies! Reese likes it too and she can even sing all the words to the songs.

I also found a new Uno partner! Mom gets sick of playing Uno with me all the time. Reese is very good at it, she beat me a lot!

We had a great time playing and we're both sad the weekend is over. Back to school! xoxo, Winnie

Back to School

Monday was the first day of school and mom wanted pictures as I walked out the door.

I wanted my new teacher, Ms. Ramon, to know how much I love the ocean. Do you think my shirt and shorts did the trick?

I really liked the first day of school. My neighbor Reese is in Mrs. Harley's class so we only get to have lunch together. But I'm sure I'll make more friends in my class soon!

Happy back to school everyone!

Park Playdate

As promised, I took Reese to the park behind our neighborhood today. We had a lot of fun!

The trail up to the lookout is really steep! I found a great walking stick but brave Reese trekked along on her own.

We rested at the top and enjoyed the view. Do you see the brown leaves that are already on the ground? There is even a cool breeze in the air. Autumn is coming, I can't wait!

New neighbors

I'm enjoying the last few relaxing days of summer vacation. The weather has been perfect!

This afternoon as I was finishing up my assigned summer readings (I saved the science for last because it's the best!), the doorbell rang.

It was my new neighbor, Reese Yang. The Yang family just moved into my neighborhood, and when Reese heard there was another 9 year old girl living here, she wanted to make friends!

Mom and I invited her to the park for a playdate this weekend so she can get to know the area. Best of all we'll be starting at the same school next week! I'm so excited to get to know my new friend Reese!
